Is Fortune Telling Real? The Straight Scoop on The Spiritual Science of Seeing the Future

How accurate is fortune telling? What does a good fortune teller do? Is it different than psychic ability... or are fortune tellers and psychics really the same? And what should I expect if I seek out a psychic who does future reading, especially if I hear something I DON'T want to know?

The truth is, we get a lot of questions about how fortune telling works, and equally as important... how it differs from traditional precognitive psychic readings, or mediums, or clairvoyant abilities over all.

The fact is - many people use new age jargon or terminology interchangeably. What one may consider a conventional clairvoyant reading... another might classify as fortune telling, depending a bit on their perspective and experience. (although in my own experience, most legitimate and gifted psychics, mediums and spiritual counselors of all types don't really love being referred to as fortune tellers, simply because the connotation can be a bit negative)

In general though, people who do "fortune" type of readings are primarily those that are looking into the future... to divine or determine a likely outcome. Many people who do these style readings also use what are referred to as spiritual props... like crystals, tarot cards and even more esoteric items like ouija (which are often called spirit boards by fortune telling types... and ARE in fact, contrary to a lot of the lure and myth - a cool and non scary way to get entertaining information about future events, before they happen)

Did you know for example that most of the earliest psychics were thought of as either prophets or fortune tellers? Even super famous psychics like Nostradamus, who wrote books and books of poetic predictions that have remained compelling for centuries, was considered a fortune teller in his day.
Many of the traditional tools used by folks who read futures years ago are still effective, and used today such as:
Palm reading (a bit less so, due to the negative stereotype, but DEFINITELY getting a lot more credibility due to recent discoveries in energy medicine, meridians, chakras and acupuncture)
Scrying
Using mirror gazing for developing precognitive abilities and predicting future events (something I've been writing about for years, and that is a lot of fun, and a very cool way to have a spiritual or psychic experience in the privacy of your own home... without needing to believe ANYTHING than your own two eyes)

The bottom line is...

Fortune telling, and the idea that the future is fated, and that we are here for a REASON, with a unique karma and purpose that can be known in advance, is NEVER going to go away. It's hard wired into our bodies and brains... and if you believe like I do, into our spiritual DNA as well!

The best way to find out what your future may hold may be as simple as suspending your disbelief for a moment... and seeking out a gifted empath who can see YOUR future before you do! (and tell you which way to turn to make sure you get where you are meant to go!)

Essentially, this was popularized by world famous psychic healer Edgar Caycee about 50 years ago, and is an idea that has many deep roots in scientific and spiritual circles alike. (even Carl Jung, the father of modern psychotherapy, taught something similar... that the universe is made up of a collective unconscious, or the history of all past, present and future events that are stored in the universe)
